| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, April 16th, 1941: Mueller Magnificent in Shreveport Win At Ballpark of Laredo today Laredo blitzed the Shreveport Porpoises 7-0 on a route-going gem by Les Mueller. He blanked them on a 5-hitter and had 11 strikeouts in the contest.
|  | Wednesday, May 22nd, 1940: Lupien Gets 5 Hits Tony Lupien was on fire today and sparked his club to a 6-1 victory over the Porpoises. The Little River-Academy first baseman was a tough out and went 5 for 5 against Shreveport in a fine hitting display.
"I got my pitches and I connected. They all found the right holes on the diamond. Some days you hit shots and they're right at somebody... and some days they fall in."
T. Lupien doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, tripled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off J. Unknown in the 9th.
This year Lupien is hitting .326 with 2 home runs. |  | Wednesday, May 22nd, 1940: Ridin' High: Lupien Hits for Cycle In Little River-Academy's 6-1 win today at Little River-Academy Grounds, Tony Lupien roughed up Shreveport pitching in a big way. The 23-year-old first baseman hit for the cycle, rapping out a single, double, triple and home run.
"What a good day! And my parents and family were here to see it, too," a beaming Lupien said after the game. "I really got some good looks today and delivered. Sometimes you're just locked in."
He finished his historic day with 5 hits in 5 at-bats, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored.
