| Breaking News |  | Thursday, May 1st, 1941: Baumholtz Top Hitter in CTN in April When Frank Baumholtz stepped up to the plate in April, he did it with confidence and today he was honored with the Continental League Batter of the Month award.
The young Modesto right fielder posted a .364 batting average with 4 home runs, 10 RBIs and scored 19 runs. Baumholtz also worked pitchers for 5 walks to post a .398 on-base percentage.

When a player gets 5 or more hits in a game, he is honored in the record book and the latest honoree is Frank Baumholtz of the Modesto Tiger Sharks. He tore up the Lakehurst Swordsmen to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the Modesto 7-3 win today at Tiger Sharks Ballpark.
"Baumholtz was a tough out today," the Lakehurst manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure."
F. Baumholtz doubled in the 1st, hit a two-run triple in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off J. Unknown in the 8th.
