Saturday, September 16th, 1939: #1 Batter Named by International League
Sid Gordon of the Saint Paul Riflemen had a fine season this year and today he accepted the Triple-A Hitter Award for 1939.

The 22-year-old left fielder put up a .307 average and a .393 on-base percentage, piling up 149 hits, 23 doubles, 4 triples, 25 home runs, 106 RBIs and 72 runs scored.
