He told the press after the game, "And I didn't even take BP today. I think I have been taking too many swings before game and decided to take a day off. Wow, this was really something... a 5 for 6 day... will my name be in the record books now?"
G. Myatt singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.

"I'm sweating now because it's hot in here," Smith said in the clubhouse after the game. "But it didn't even feel like I was sweating out there."
One of his teammates said it was easy to play behind him today. "It was like he's just playing with the hitters and doing whatever he wanted to do."
