Thursday, August 11th, 1938: 5 Hits for Railcats Dedeaux
Rod Dedeaux really sizzled at the plate in today's 6-5 win over Mustangs. The Richmond shortstop blistered Nixon for 5 hits in 5 at-bats.

"Dedeaux was too tough to get out today," the Mustangs skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."

R. Dedeaux singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 5th, tripled in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off J. Unknown in the 10th.

So far this season Dedeaux has gotten 122 hits in 380 at-bats for a .321 batting average with 7 home runs. His stats include 59 RBIs and 47 runs scored. He has played in 106 games.
