Triple-A Baseball News Article | | | Friday, August 4th, 1939: Riflemen Halt Joost's Hit Streak The Saint Paul Riflemen did something to Eddie Joost no team had done for the last 25 games -- they held him hitless and stopped his consecutive-game hitting streak. But they didn't stop the Swans. Kalida came away with a 3-1 victory at Swans Stadium.
Commenting on the demise of the streak, the 23-year-old second baseman told BNN, "Hey, I knew it wasn't going to last forever, but it was a good ride while it lasted."
This season Joost has hit 2 home runs and posted a .311 batting average. | |
