Monday, July 31st, 1939: International League's Best Batter Announced
Billy Johnson of the Saint Paul Riflemen was locked in all week as he bullied the pitchers he faced. Johnson put up some great numbers and hauled in the International League Player of the Week trophy.

He hit .538 with 1 home run and 6 RBIs. The 20-year-old third baseman also scored 8 runs and for the week went 14-26.

So far this year Johnson has 8 home runs and a .311 batting average.
