Monday, June 6th, 1938: Gibson's Strong Week Earns AL Trophy
What's in a number? In baseball, just about everything.

The numbers that Boston (A)'s Josh Gibson stacked up last week were the envy of the league, as Gibson came away with American League Player of the Week honors.

He belted out 14 hits in 29 at-bats, 4 home runs and 8 RBIs last week as he posted his .483 batting average.

So far this year Gibson has 16 home runs and a .332 batting average.
