Sunday, September 17th, 1939: Star SS Signs Pact with Dodgers
Brooklyn management got a shot in the arm today as Willie Wells announced he would re-sign with the organization at a rate of $150,930 per year.

While some have questioned hiring a 34-year-old man, most fans and sportswriters appear receptive as Wells is still an A list player.

Currently Wells has 4 home runs and a .288 batting average.
