That's what the fans at Shibe Park got to see today, when Philadelphia (A) outplayed the Browns 16-9. Joe Medwick of the Athletics came to the plate 6 times and came away with a dynamite day as he exploded for 6 hits against St. Louis (A).
In the postgame press conference the St. Louis (A) skipper quipped to reporters, "Hey, we tried to get him out. We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the kitchen sink."
J. Medwick hit a two-run double in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off L. Hanning in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off G. Liebhardt Jr. in the 9th.
